The Battle's Just Begun

I saw sweet Susie by her back yard gate

I asked her plainly if she could wait

She said, "I hope He doesn’t come like this

I want to hang around and raise some kids"

Asked ol’ Joe if he knew who he was

He gazed into his hands and started to cuss

Said, "Yes I know but brother tell me true

Who is this God that means so much to you?"

I said time is running swiftly out

There ain’t no time to run

The battle’s just begun

I saw you running for your cellar door

As if you waited for a nuclear war

I’d like for you to tell me what it’s for

Tell me now

Tell me now

Tell me now

Tell me now

Tell me

Got your message on a grocery bag

Said you did not think you could live like that

How can you play life like a deck of cards?

Please seek forgiveness before you cannot

Because time is running swiftly out

There ain’t no time to run

The battle’s just begun

The battle’s just begun . . .

The battle’s just begun . . .

The battle’s just begun . . .

You better find yourself in the face of

The Son

You better find your place in the plan of

The Son
